Common questions
How do I create an event?
Open the app, tap the big + button on the home screen, give your event a name, pick a few date and time options, and invite friends via phone contacts or by sharing the link. Everyone votes blind on dates and cuisines — when votes are in, the app reveals the winning pick.
Do my friends need the app to vote?
No. When you share an invite link, friends can vote directly from any phone's browser — no install required. They'll still get the full blind-voting experience.
I'm not receiving the SMS verification code.
Codes usually arrive in under 30 seconds. If it doesn't show up:
- Check that you entered the correct number, including country code.
- Make sure your phone has signal and SMS isn't blocked by your carrier.
- Wait 60 seconds, then tap Resend code.
- Still nothing? Email us at support@letsdine.app with your phone number and we'll investigate.
How do I change my display name or taste profile?
Open the app → tap your profile icon in the top right → Edit profile. You can update your display name, dietary restrictions, and cuisines you always like or avoid. Changes apply to all future events immediately.
I'm not getting push notifications.
iOS: Settings → LetsDine → Notifications → make sure Allow Notifications is on. If it's already on and you're still not receiving them, sign out and back in to refresh your device token.
How do I delete my account?
Open the app → profile icon → Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, your votes, and any events you created. Events you participated in (but didn't create) are anonymized rather than deleted, so they remain functional for the rest of your group.
If you can't access the app, email support@letsdine.app from the phone number tied to your account and we'll process the deletion for you within 1 business day.
How do I leave an event?
Open the event → tap the ⋯ menu in the top right → Leave event. The other members are notified, and your votes are removed from the tally.
